Down the Red Road

Image
I was looking for a new eyeshadow color last month a color that I don't own yet (that task was near impossible) but I did find a color that I didn't know if I should laugh or cry......Red Eyeshadow!
One word came to mind Gross, who would wear it and how do you wear red eyeshadow?.
I got over my shock and I did buy it and tried different ways to wear it.
Each way I tried it was near impossible for it to look stylish instead I ended up looking like something out of a Halloween competition, So I started blending different colors with it, instead of the blacks and pinks I had been using.
The next day I tried it for the last time but this time with brown eyeshadow in the crease and a pale beige on the brow bone  and of course the red eyeshadow swept gently over the lid. I applied my favorite mascara a little dark brown liner on the top and bottom lash line to tie in with the brown in the crease.
I grabbed my magnified mirror and took a closer look at my creation closer.
And it look…

Product Rave - NYX Blush

Image
So In my first product rave I want to give the spotlight to NYX Blush in 06 Peach.
This blush is a beautiful pink color with soft peach undertone, it's soft and matte finish looks flawless and natural on the skin. It blends well into the skin, and suits most skin tone from light to tanned skins.
It's a staple in my makeup bag and my go to blush for most days.
I recommend if you don't own it, take a look into getting it it's truly beautiful.

Mineral Magic Or Madness?

Image
I remember nearly 3 years ago when I saw the ad for the first mineral foundation, that was now widely available in Australia, it was the Maybelline Mineral power Powder foundation.
I had though heard whispers in the wind about this "Healthier" Makeup, on the web when looking for New makeup things and in videos on beauty blogs and YouTube.

But when it came to our shores (Australia) I knew that it would take off like a rocket, especially because we all get the "healthier is better" rammed down out throats, so why not the same in makeup!.

Nevertheless, I when out and brought this new craze foundation and tried it for a month and I must say that it was not bad at all, it did not do all the miracle things that it claimed too, but it did look good on the skin and was not as irritating on the skin at first touch and did not flair up my acne.

So within a year from that brand (Maybelline) coming out with it's first Mineral product, it was no surprise that other brands…

If your in the market and looking for some cheap and easy to apply nail polish then I found something really good. I'm not really a nail polish girl but when I found these wonderful nail polishes that go on smooth last a long time and don't stain the nails, I just had to tell you all.
They are the Ulta 3 Nail polishes, they come in huge range of colors and they cost $2 each, a total bargain for a excellent salon quality nail polish.
They are available at chemists and selected shops, you'll have to check your local area though if there in stock.

The 3 Wonder Cosmetics

Image
Women for the last centuries have been looking for the 3 perfect stables in there makeup bag, a skin perfecting foundation, a lash wonder of a mascara and a gloss that gives color but not that sticky feeling.

So where dose one look when on the look out for these perfect items that are "must haves" for everyday use.  Luckily stores are loaded with choice these days and with the cosmetics industries being worth billions around the world £6.2 Billion pound alone in the UK, it's little wonder that we have a overload of choice.
Having tested loads of different cosmetics brands over the past 4 years I've been into makeup, I have have found that it's very easy to spend money on things you never use and very hard to find something that is a perfect match. Lets begin with foundation

How many unloved foundation do you own? I'm going to guess a few.  That's because our obsession with finding "The One" perfect foundation…

To Use Primer or Not To Use Primer?

Yes Primer!, It came when no one was looking in the dead of night, But that was a few years ago now after much marketing.

Because priming your face before foundation has become a huge thing to do and a great new marketing tool for cosmetic industries alike. They tell you it's your secret weapon to a flawless "Canvas" to apply your foundation on and that it will also make the foundation last better and make it more resilient to foundation becoming horrible as the day wears on.

But here is the question is it a true foundation help or a foundation hinder?
That is where my quest for the truth started about a 4 months ago, testing lots of the popular brands of primers to find out if it truly is a wonder product and must have.

On to my results

So I have oily skin and yes some acne too, so a fresh canvas is just on order for me to make my skin smooth and "Hide" those lumps and bumps.

I started with my first Primer, Rimmel's Recover Perfect Skin Primer what can I …

Skincare

Image
Where to start on the topic of skincare, It's a tough subject how ever you look at it. But it's a necessary part of life and vital if you wear make up.
I started in make up wearing daily when I was 16 years old. Yes that was the time of lots of acne and skin that well looked better when I had a too many laying of foundation on top of it.
Not the way to approach it but then again that's why you learn new things everyday. And my number one thing that I've learned is if you wear make up everyday it is vital to have a great skin care system that works for you and your needs.
Since I was about 16 I've been through more skincare products that where promising me beautiful soft clear and oil controlled skin forever. But many have failed and left me saddened that again I brought into the marketing hype. Before I stared my Make up wearing "Career", I was quiet happy with a basic cleanser and moisturizer, but it would not do me forever as my skin became worse and my…

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Image
So I wanted a new foundation cause I was a little tried of my other two that I always use the M.A.C Studio fix fluid and Revlon ColorStay foundation.
(FYI: I have very Oliy skin and I'am prone to break out's and I'm Fair skinned)

So when I was walking though my local chemist the other day and found a new stand with a new Rimmel foundation, intrigued I walked over to take a look.
It was the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, It looked similar to something I had owned once before from Loreal. The Loreal True Match Foundation which I used for a week and broke out in all over in spots and it looked very unnatural on me when I wore the foundation.

But being the tragic I am with anything new I brought it any way and hoped for the best.
When I first applied it the next morning, I was surprised it went on smoothly and blended nicely in to my skin. I waited a minute to see how it felt on the skin and no itchy feeling or discomfit was present so I applied my favorite powder over t…
