Battle of the Under Eye Concealers

So it's Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi Concealer VS YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighter. Now these 2 products are closely the same to each other YSL being the Highend and cult classic and Maybelline being the new product and drugstore one.

Now being a huge fan of the YSL pen for a long time now, I do still look forward to the drugstores or other Highend brands giving it a go at being a dupe and a good one if not better?! But till now being better then the YSL Touche Eclat pen is proving to be a hard thing to do. I have tried so many dupes that at the end of the day I have wondered to myself WHY? did you even bother?!!!
But being the Makeup artist I'am I don't give up to easily, that and I knew this would be something my subscribers would be wanting me to review. So I brought the Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi Concealer about 10 days ago and this is my take on the VS review.

Maybelline claims this, why you'll love it

YSL claims this, why you'll love it

What I have found:
The Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi Concealer is very much that a concealer, way more then it is a under eye's highlighting product, it did does have slight highlighting qualities but not enough to be a "highlighter" as such. On it's concealing side it does do that fairly well, it looks nice and when you set it with translucent powder it does last for a good 7 hours before creasing or fading.
The YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighter, is both and does do both jobs too, it is a wonderful highlighting product and really does make the under eye area brighter and more better looking. On the concealer part of this product it does do that too not as much concealing as highlighting but still pretty good.
These two products are way apart in price range, the Maybelline Pen is $7 to 9 dollars and the YSL Pen is $40 dollars (US Pricing). In the amount of product you get there is also a difference here, Maybelline Pen you get 9.5 ml and the YSL Pen you get 2.5 ml, So you can see a HUGE difference.
If you have the money I would still always say go for the YSL pen, it's a wonderful product and deserves it's cult like status, I have used it for what seams like forever now and it has become a must have for everyday use. But overall the Maybelline one is not all that bad either, if you have darker under eye's circles or just want a cheaper dupe then I can with a smile on my face suggest this one too.
